Mobile Processes: Workflows for Mobile centric service composition will be presented at CDVE2008:The Fifth International Conference on Co-operative Design, Visualization and Engineering, on September 25 at Industry Day Presentations, 2008, Mallorca, Spain.

Abstract:

Business process management has long been recognized and adopted for vertical and horizontal usage scenarios. In contrast to the existing desktop-centric processes with limited mobility support, we introduce a mobile-centric process oriented system that supports collaboration by executing user centric tasks between people and services on mobile devices. The objectives are to leverage horizontal mobile device capabilities in vertical service scenarios and to integrate mobile devices to back-end services when necessary. This presentation will address general concepts with selected use cases, technologies like Web Services Business Process Execution Language (WS-BPEL), examples of mobile service extensions, and discuss ongoing research activities related to Mobile Process Engine for S60 within Nokia Research Center.
