The Extended Home team focuses on researching ways to build the connected home ecosystem, understanding user needs at home and innovating new concepts for devices and services, which can generate Nokia new business in the home domain.
The future possibilities of this research work include concept home devices, hybrid physical/digital presence, enhanced family togetherness and aware home.
Some of the key technologies, standards and alliances employed include Universal Plug and Play (UPnP), Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) and the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF).
