This team aims at creating innovative experiences matching social and professional needs of being and doing together. The team has a strong domain knowledge in the area of web service technologies, mobile productivity, collaboration and mobile search. It also has a solid track record delivering applications for mobile enterprise users.
There are both technological and business drivers towards new ways of working. On one hand, broadband and mobile networks are starting to be wide enough. On the other hand, bandwidth, coverage and costs are getting to an acceptable level. These factors create an increased need for collaboration tools that can, for example, reduce traveling. Also, increasing mobility at work is creating demand for better communication tools. For that, the team is creating solutions for new ways of working, distributed and virtual teamwork, and group communication utilizing smart environments.

- How to enable smoother and more intuitive human-human interaction, with the help of ambient information and communication technology.
- What is the preferred modality set when interacting within smart spaces?
- What is the role of synthetic and smart spaces in communication in different domains?
- How to facilitate awareness and provide constant connection to peers and to things what matter.
- How to find information in smart spaces.
