Internet Consumer Services

Two major trends in the convergence of consumer electronics, computing, communications and media drive the Internet Consumer Services team.

First, the promise of convenient, anytime, anywhere access to any digital content and services. The rapid growth of the internet and the proliferation of personal mobile devices can both be seen as means to this same end.

Secondly, end-user generated content, communities and social networking. It is the so called Web 2.0 phenomena. Notwithstanding all the hype, the drivers are fundamental. We are inherently social beings, and we need to communicate, share, and belong.

Research topics

  • Enrichment of social and communication experiences through new uses of mobile devices based on the internet.
  • Creation of end-to-end consumer services that have a strong user appeal, using user-centric research techniques.
