Member of Research Staff
Palo Alto, California, US
Contact
Guang Yang joined Nokia Research Center Palo Alto in 2007. He is currently a member of the Social and Physical Proximity Interactions (SPPI) team working on user behavior modeling and activity recognition with mobile devices. Previously he has also worked on Social Proximity Networks (SPN) and Wireless Grids and Collaborative Services (WGCS), helping Nokia to transform to an Internet company.
Prior to Nokia, Guang worked as a Technical Yahoo (software engineer) at Yahoo! Mobile in Sunnyvale, California. He was a key member in the engineering team designing and developing the then-next-generation mobile platform for Yahoo! worldwide. He was also responsible for several properties on the Yahoo! Mobile home page which are still in production.
Guang received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of California, Los Angeles in 2006, and M.Eng./B.Eng. in Computer Science from Tsinghua Univesity, Beijing, China in 2000 and 1998, respectively.
