Background

I have Ph.D degree in Mathematics from the University of Helsinki. My career in Cryptography spans over more than 15 years, starting with the Finnish Defence Forces including a research leave of four years. I have been with Nokia since 1998 and I am responsible for cryptographic techniques in cellular and wireless security. I also hold a professorship at the Helsinki University of Technology. I have published  a number of scientific papers on digital signatures, design of block ciphers, and security protocols. I chaired the program committee of EUROCRYPT'98 and SAC 2002, and  served in several other scientific committees for conferences and academic degrees.
