I joined Nokia in 1999 just after I received my doctor degree in signal and information processing from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). Currently I am leading the research team of multimodal and multimedia user interactions in Nokia Research Center (NRC) Beijing laboratory.  

 

Professional Activities

I am an adjunct professor of University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and Beijing University of Post and Telecommunication (BUPT), and I am also a board member of Association of Chinese Image and Graphics.
 

Research Projects

Since 1999, I have participated in and managed quite a lot of NRC projects focusing on various research topics:

  • pen UI and handwriting
  • optical scanning
  • image tagging and sorting by human face
  • hand gesture interactions
  • multimodal interactions
Based on the concrete deliverables from the projects, I was honered with four NRC achievement awards, one NRC breakthrough award, and 2009 Nokia value award - passion for innovation granted by Nokia CEO.
