Lars Eggert is a principal scientist at the Nokia Research Center in Helsinki, Finland. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science in the fall of 2003 from the University of Southern California (USC). Lars has worked on research projects ranging from internetwork architecture, transport protocols, virtual networks to resource scheduling. He is a member of the ACM, IEEE and ISOC and an active participant in the IRTF and IETF, where he serves as Area Director of the Transport Area and has chaired the Datagram Congestion Control Protocol (DCCP) working group. He is a reviewer for numerous journals and conferences and serves on the program committees of IEEE Infocom and the IEEE Global Internet Symposium, among others.
