Ole Kirkeby I am a Danish citizen who started at Nokia Research Center in Helsinki in year 2000. My background is in acoustics and audio signal processing but I have also worked two years in the Wellness and Healthcare team. In my sparetime I am a keen recreational runner and tennis player. I am also an amateur musician, and over the years I have spent literally thousands of hours practicing drums and guitar. I have a website, M3 Guitar, about jazz guitar using a seven-string tuned in major thirds. Here is the formal bit, a list of the places I have worked and studied up until my time with Nokia. I have an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark (1989) and a Ph.D. from the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research, Southampton University, in the UK (1995). I was employed as a Technical Writer at Bruel and Kjär, Denmark (1989-1991), and I was briefly a visiting researcher at Aalborg University, Denmark (1998-1999) and Tokyo Denki University, Japan (1996). |
