Wei-Chao Chen

Background:

I joined Nokia Research Center Palo Alto on February 2007. Currently my research focus is in computational photography, augmented reality, and user interfaces. Before joining Nokia, I worked in Nvidia as a 3D Graphics Architect between 2002-2006 and was the shader architecture lead for several GPUs, including GeForce 6600, GeForce 7800 and Sony Playstation 3 RSX. While working at Intel Corporation during 2000-2001, I co-developed the Light Field Mapping technology and the opensource light field project (OpenLF).

I received my MS in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University (1996), and MS (2001) and PhD (2002) in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
