Background
I got my B.Sc, M.Sc. and Ph.D degrees in 1992, 1994 and 1996 respectively, all from Electrical Engineering department of Tsinghua University in Beijing. My major was image processing. Specifically the focus of my Ph.D research was on image compression. In 1997 I worked as a research assistant in University of Southern California with a research topic of speech/audio compression. From the year of 1998 I started to gain my industrial experience in Silicon Valley. Before joining Nokia in 2004, I also worked in Adaptec for less than a year and Samsung for five plus years. My past experiences mainly focused on digital TV system development, video post-processing algorithm development as well as video coding research and standardization.
