Background
I am a senior researcher in the System Research Center in Nokia Research Center (NRC), Palo Alto, California. Prior to moving to Palo Alto in November 2006, I have been working in NRC, Dallas, Texas for 8 years. My past research work includes Robust Header Compression (ROHC) for VoIP and SIP, optimization of various Internet applications such as web browsing and email over wireless networks, XML compression, and other areas including security and power management.
Besides conceptual studies and hands-on validations, I participated in standardization work in IETF, 3GPP, and 3GPP2. I also managed several projects in the above areas during the past 5 years.
It is my passion to carry on cutting-edge research that can generate real benefits to people’s life. My current research focuses on next generation architecture and platform for providing distributed services and resource sharing over mobile heterogeneous networks.
Before joining Nokia, I worked in the Space Science Center in University of New Hampshire as a Research Assistant in 1995-1997. My professional career started back in Beijing, China as a Software Engineer from 1992 to 1994.
I received my BS degree in Physics in 1992 from Peking University (Beijing), MS degree in Physics in 1997 from University of New Hampshire, and MS degree in Computer Science in 1998 from University of Texas at Austin.
I am happily married and have an energetic toddler boy.
