Abstract

Sometimes the best source of information is from people you don't even know. Strangers with similar interests, experiences, or opinions can form an instantly appealing community for discussion, sharing, and interaction. As research points out, though, building those communities with the appropriate level of trust between peers is critical for their success. And finding the right combination of existing and new technologies will help make it happen.
