Home > Awareness Networking
The key idea of awareness networking is to use ad-hoc radio mesh directly between devices to carry awareness information. It consist of small, anonymous messages that are exchanged by the devices automatically, without human user intervention. In this case, anonymous means that it is not possible to infer the true identity of the sender from the message, unless it has been intentionally included in the message. Such messages are not for moving files or carrying speech samples - in other words, awareness networking is not about making a connectivity service over ad-hoc mesh. By making it easy for the mobile nodes to learn about each other and share information, awareness networking will enable a new way of creating mobile internet services, without servers.
