Media Systems and Transport

This team explores the use of real-time media in services. It innovates and demonstrates new multimedia services with a particular focus on live and mobile services. One aim of the team is to make the emerging media formats suitable for transport over networks by improving their error resilience, for example. An additional target is the design of the necessary pieces for integrating media codecs into services, such as their transport formats over the internet protocol, and storage formats in container files. In addition to the technology development, the team studies the subjective experience brought by new technologies.
