Sofia-SIP

Overview

Sofia-SIP is an open-source SIP User-Agent library, compliant with the IETF RFC3261 specification. It can be used as a building block for SIP client software for uses such as VoIP, IM, and many other real-time and person-to-person communication services.

Technology Employed

Sofia-SIP is written in ANSI-C, and utilizes the POSIX base platform. The library supports a wide range of features related to SIP and SIMPLE technologies.

Relevance

Sofia-SIP has been used as a platform for SIP related research in our group at NRC for many years, and we have now decided to open the platform for external developers as well.
